Cori graduated from The University of Montana with a degree in Paralegal Studies. She spent the next 10 years in Boise working for 2 of Idaho’s largest law firms as a litigation paralegal specializing in large litigation defense cases, tort claims, medical malpractice, large document management, evidence analysis and electronic court presentations. With her husband Ryan, a native of Salmon, they moved here in 2006. Since then she has worked with Allen Accounting Group along with Ryan, who is a CPA. She now spends her time assisting her payroll and bookkeeping clients, along with helping her husband during their busy tax season.
This will be Cori’s 4th year on the Board and 3rd as President. Joining the Chamber appealed to her desire to make Salmon a more desirable place to live and visit. Her primary project has been the startup of “Main Street Cleanup” in May, a community involved effort to spruce up Main Street in preparation for the upcoming summer season. Along with this, the Chamber has involved local high school students in growing flowers for pots adorning Main Street. Ms. Allen has worked hard to strengthen the Chamber’s presence in the community as well as focusing on the sustainability of our local businesses through their membership, increased tourism and involvement in partnering with various local non-profits on projects.
As well as the Chamber Board, Cori also sits on the Board of Directors for LCEDA, Salmon’s Urban Renewal Agency and the Selective Service Board.

I went in to the insurance business in 1956 in San Francisco, with the Travelers Insurance Company. I joined a San Francisco insurance brokerage firm in 1969 and was responsible for the worldwide insurance program for the Kaiser Aluminum and Chemical Corporation of Oakland. After a couple of other moves I ended up as Underwriting V*P for The Insurance Company of the West in San Diego. In 1980 I decided to return to my home state and bought a small insurance agency in Hailey. When I sold the agency in 1995, to "retire," I had built it into one of the 10 largest in Idaho. I moved to Salmon to be far enough from Hailey that my wife wouldn't come home from her children's clothing store to find a couple of grandkids on our front porch waiting for her to baby sit. Yet still close enough to go visit them. I am now more "retired" than in past years.
