How to get to Salmon

Eastern approach: Head North West from I-15 (near Idaho Falls) via Hwy 28
Head West from I-15 (near Dillon) via Lemhi Pass along the Lewis & Clark Trail
(not suitable for all vehicles)

Northern approach: Head South from I-90 (at Missoula) via Hwy 93

Southern approach: Head North from Sun Valley or North East from Boise
via Stanley then Hwy 93

Western approach: Only by foot or horseback via the largest Wilderness in
the continental U.S.

Air and ground transportation available.

Sacajawea Center : Hwy 28, 1 mile east of Hwy 93 & Hwy 28 junction

History Park : 413 Main St, Salmon

USFS/BLM Complex: 50 Hwy 93 south, 1 mile south of Hwy 93 & Hwy 28 junction

Lemhi Pass : summer months only

PICNIC AREAS & PLAYGROUNDS

City Park Hwy 28, approx 1 mile east of downtown Salmon

2 softball fields, 2 little league fields, 1 t-ball field, large grass area, trees playground, pavilions, BBQ grill, outdoor swimming pool, restrooms.

Island Park Main Street , Salmon, under the bridge

Pavilion, large grass area, walking trail, trees, large grass area, BBQ grills, skate park, kiosk, restrooms.

Cavaness Park Water & Van Dreff Streets, one block off Main Street next to the river

Trees, grass area, restrooms.

Kids’ Creek Park Hwy 93, 1/4 mile south of Hwy 93 & 28 junction in Salmon

Kid’s fishing pond, covered picnic table.
